Intimacy seems to be an elusive pursuit, as if there is an invisible barrier between self and others, self and nature, and even within oneself. I try to explore this tension and represent it with a thin and transparent plastic sheet - it appears fragile, yet impenetrable, separating the characters from their real contact with the natural world. This barrier embodies a contradiction: the desire for connection coexists with the fear of vulnerability.
Plastic sheet represents the invisible forces that hinder genuine intimacy. It blurs boundaries and creates a sense of uncertainty, symbolising both the deep longing for intimate relationships and the unease and struggle in the face of the unknown. The interaction between the character and the plastic sheet is a journey of exploration, both like a search for a path of breakthrough and like an attempt to protect oneself. This process expresses one's efforts to redefine ‘intimacy’, is it a resonance with nature, the world, or a repair of self-connection? Will we ever be close enough?
