Analog Pixels presents a captivating photographic fusion of both digital and analog methods that explores the interplay between past and present. My photographs-featuring ghostly figures, distorted objects and unfamiliar environments-depict dreamlike settings that reflect the illusive nature of the Surrealist movement. Layered atop a digital foundation are analog elements that suggest the transient and inevitable nature of memory in time: shimmering light trails, mysterious and partially disguised figures, and obscured environmental elements. Crisp, digital elements are juxtaposed against the soft grain of analog film, an invitation for viewers to embrace nostalgia as they reflect on the passage of time within their own experiences.
Analog Pixels challenges traditional boundaries within photography, eliciting a dialogue about the nature of the timeless yet ever-evolving medium. This work celebrates the tactile warmth of analog media whilst simultaneously embracing the limitless possibilities of digital technology, and, in doing so, forges a harmonious union between the two contrasting methods. "Analog Pixels" challenges viewers to question how we perceive and record our memory of time as we accept the blurring of the lines between reality and imagination.
