The work is addressing the ideas of the subconscious minds introspection and transformation pulling ideas and themes of existentialism from Edgar Allen Poe's 'tell tale heart' and Franz Kafka 'metamorphosis'. Following ideas of existential questions and how the body's subconscious responds to the work. The layers of the work represent the multitude of layers within the subconscious and create a space that produces existential thoughts and ideas of emotion and questions. Contrasting identifiable texture and objects but altering them into a subconscious landscape. The subconscious mind took control of the work as the installation process is concept driven through subconscious actions and rework until the subconscious is satisfied. The subconscious mindscape, relationships, mental and physicality are explored through the form and movement of the work. Representing the layers of relationships and the impact others have on the subconscious structure and interconnectedness, emphasising that no one is alone rather a part of a larger system. Making a space that feels familiar yet abnormal.
