My work is an interdisciplinary installation that transports viewers into a dreamlike world of deep introspection. Comprising of a large sale surreal painting, two antique chairs facing the painting on which viewers can take a seat, surrounded by a circle of veiled plinths of increasing heights, each topped with a ceramic lantern emitting a soft light within the dimmed ambient lighting of the space. My central painting depicts a ethereal and bizarre tea party scene, as a circular table is surrounded by various surreal versions of myself, each symbolic of a different era, experience or aspect of my mind; the opposite site of the table is left open, as this tea party extends beyond the painting to include the viewers upon the chairs . The circle of lanterns acts as a spiritual guide for viewers as they are led by their light into the alternate world I have created. The gentle hum and relaxing scent emitted from a diffuser near the rooms entrance deepens this other-worldy spiritual experience of reverie and daydreaming.
