Women are unable to escape the sexualisation of the female form, no matter how you dress or what skin you show there is always the subconscious knowledge that you are viewed by many as a sexual entity.

This work aims to express the mundanity of having a shower, and the dichotomy between said act and the sexualisation of women's bodies, and how this affects the way we see ourselves. Each painting depicts stages of the process all from the perspective of the model.

I wanted to articulate the vulnerable yet unthreatened moment of being alone with oneself fulfilling the duty of showering, where the body is solely an organ to be tended to, rather than a sexual object.
