This catalogue accompanies a physical exhibition of the same name held across the SCA Gallery and adjoining spaces at the Old Teachers’ College, The University of Sydney from 29 November – 7 December 2024. 

SCA New Contemporaries invites you to explore the work of more than 100 students across our 2024 graduating cohort. Spanning disciplines including Screen Arts, Photography, Painting, Printmedia, Sculpture, Ceramics, Glass, Jewellery and Object, the works within both the online and in-person presentations represent the capstone of degrees including the Bachelor of Visual Arts, Bachelor of Visual Arts/Bachelor of Advanced Studies, Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours), Master of Film and Screen Arts and research Master of Fine Arts and Doctor of Philosophy.

Short Animation Project
The story of this animation depicts me as an adult looking back on my past through a TV as my younger self goes through various events that shaped my life, many events that are outside of my control. For a large part, fear and anger shaped my life and I had not found a way out until I reached my present age. I simply wished that I grew into the adult that the younger me needed when no one was there for him.

Born in Thailand, raised in Australia and started drawing at the time when he was 7, his mother had backgrounds in visual arts which allowed him to follow her footsteps. He originally wanted to pursue traditional painting and drawings but later adopted an interest in screen arts, video editing and animations as a way to expand his works further.
