Having encompassed the arts and all other segments of contemporary society, neoliberal ideology has also invaded universities in Australia and around the world, slowly dismantling and eroding core values about the nature of research and knowledge. “IAI presents the Creative Industries and Design School” is a critical over-identification with the neoliberal aspects of the University of Sydney’s policies.

IAI is a new institutional initiative broadly concerned with opening new cultural opportunities within and beyond Sydney’s urban metropolis. As part of its guiding manifest, the IAI considers any location, external or internal, private or public, a potential site for establishing exhibition opportunities and other contemporary cultural presentations.
