My work revolves around the idea of heritage and communication.
The connection between family members is important and inseparable. Those in my country who have disabilities are usually been ignored and dismissed. However my mom and her siblings did a great job of continuing gesture language as a culture. My figurative work are meant to celebrate these different languages as beautiful. The lotus, made of sculptures of hand, represents the equality and power of lives in their Buddhist faith.
