Eduardo Forcadilla

‘The Ritual’ considers the ceremoniousness of a night forged by music, wine and companionship. Faces frozen in joyful expression, bodies intertwined in dance; it is through collective rituals that we navigate times of social isolation and uncertainty. The work is chiselled by the sculptural legacies of Angkor Wat, the celebrated indulgence of Art Deco France, and the communal spirit of Socialist Russia. ‘The Ritual’ is an attempt to preserve the blissful feeling of togetherness so that it may outlive itself.
