Finding the place between idea and reality, Kilbey examines how thoughts can distort and change during the menial tasks of the day such as visiting the supermarket to do the weekly shop. Playing with iconography and the absurd, this triptych follows the narrative of the mind and it’s pathways, and how they tend to fall off into absolute nonsense.

Aurora Kilbey is an American Sydney based artist, specialising in multimedia practises with a focus on drawing and collage. After graduating from RMIT with a bachelors of Animation, Kilbey continued to pursue illustration and character design, as well as honing in her traditional art practise while undergoing her BVA at University of Sydney. Kilbey enjoys walking the line between comedy and art, drawing inspiration from comic art, street graffiti, and the absurd.
