Peter Levin
About
The work evokes the feeling of decay. Coming to a new place may lead to many things, one of them is a feeling of losing parts of my being. The self I know is disappearing.
I am fascinated by the thought that film and images in general is something that is meant to preserve or document, but when it’s treated differently, the result might be defamiliarisation: the relationship between the viewer and the film changes. The image becomes more of a representation of an experience or an emotion, rather than a documentation.
