About
existentialism
/ɛɡzɪˈstɛnʃ(ə)lɪz(ə)m/
a philosophical theory or approach which emphasises the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent determining their own development through acts of the will.
Thinking about our place in the world, which makes us feel small. As if everything matters too much and at the same time too little. When looking at the size of us humans in contrast to the size of the universe, we are just a small blip in time and space.
This project came alive after purchasing a vintage analogue camera that accidentally had a malfunction. Creating landscapes through this malfunction, not being able to manually see where to focus - because of the model of the camera - and the element of distortion, there was no 100% control in making images.
