Gabe Wahl
About
The work “Feeling Blue in the Presence of Mountains” is a love letter to the ecosystems in the Blue Mountains National Park. The work depicts the failing ecosystems through pencil and paint. Producing delicate images of some of the regions endangered species the work aims to question humanities role in the removal of these animals. Drawing inspiration from the park, the colours were painted in situ connecting the tones of the earth and flora to the endangered species depicted. Gabe Wahl aims to depict the intricate delight of these dying species and their connection to the ecosystem. Attempting to depict the passive beauty in the slow destruction of the World Heritage Listed National Park.
