About
This installation is a 2.5m’s cube chamber. Each side has a door which represents a story.
The rolling door belonged to the grocery store I visited after school in primary school. Sometimes the door is down, we need to knock on it then the owner will raise it.
The glass door is my childhood daycare’s door. I didn’t like going to daycare because I was not familiar with the environment. One day my brother came to pick me up, but he was a minor, so teacher wouldn’t let him pick me up. All I could do was look at him through the glass door, and it was very sad.
The fingerprint door belonged to my home, and it had a fingerprint lock. However, it never recognized my fingerprints and often shut me out at the midnight.
The magic door is the beauty clinic’s door that my mom went to. When I was little, I thought it was a magic door, because every time my mother walked out of it, she became more beautiful.
I filled the interior of the space with cotton and created some peeling wall skin. I wanted to present the whole space with an unreal, empty feeling.
