49.6% is a photography project that consists of five parts. 49.6% is the approximate percentage of the female population around the world. This project focuses on eggs, which intrinsically carry a symbolic meaning that is associated with human ontology.

By presenting fertility, excessiveness, and the tension between beauty and repulsion, this work intends to show the experience of females in a patriarchal society.

Bio

Zitong Wang is a Visual Arts student who is interested in making photographs. Through the approach of constructing inanimate bodies by found objects, she usually speaks about gender issues and human consciousness in her work.
