“China Dialect” will focus on ten Chinese dialects, such as Fujian dialect, Wu dialect, Hakka dialect, Cantonese dialect and so on. Through the exploration of dialects, it is well-known that  the local folk culture which are attached by dialects. In today’s social context of increasing cultural soft power, we are going to feel how dialect and its traditional art continue to play its unique charm. We will explore how Chinese dialects are gaining new life with the spread of Mandarin through the eyes of both art masters and millennial preservationists. In the first episode, we will go to Fuzhou to find the history of the rise and fall of Fuzhou dialect and its local ethnic arts and cultures, such as Fujian opera, xiniang and songs.
