The multiple screen video artwork A Room of One’s Own explores the intimate relationship between the room habitant’s inner self, identities, moods, and alter egos. A Room of One’s Own (1929) is named after a feminist book by Virginia Woolf, that has the theme of liberation, self-expression and, creativity being shown privately in a room.
This video artwork reveals the artist’s thoughts, and personal beliefs about life, culture and mortality. Playing with facades, alter egos and vulnerability.
Bio
Isabelle Bianca Virrey is a graphic designer and photographer that aspires to be a creative director someday. She currently studies Visual Arts (specialising in Screen Arts) and Advanced studies of Marketing at the University of Sydney.
Her main inspirations are her personal experiences, foreign films, and editorials she sees around her whether it is through digital or print. She currently works in the fashion/design industry where she draws majority of her aesthetic inspiration from. Isabelle Bianca loves to play with colour and text in majority of her artworks.
