About
Exaltation, 2021 is a series of three large-scale portrait oil paintings, that take place in the queer nightclub scene. These hedonistic, ephemeral spaces embody ideas of creativity, freedom of expression and liberated sexuality. And for a lot of people, they are a needed safe, secretive, or subversive space in which to enact these things. Exaltation captures the feeling of euphoria associated with the ability of freedom of expression in the queer nightclub space, which has been especially missed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
